Punjab Local Government Academy serves the local government in Punjab to fulfil their knowledge and skills development needs. PLGA is undergoing extensive reform process to become the premier institution in Punjab to deliver not only mandatory promotional training for in-service local government professionals and elected representatives but also deliver specialized and advanced and management courses to support improved service delivery in Punjab. The ultimate objective is to achieve greater efficiency, effectiveness, impact, and sustainability of local government institutions to improve service delivery standards and urban governance required by the Punjab Local Government Ordinance 2022.  PLGA is developing its organizational and institutional capacity by developing new infrastructure, adopting a more sustainable business model and transforming into an autonomous body. For its smooth transition under different components of Punjab Intermediate Cities Investment Program, the academy seeks active support of all the relevant stakeholders and meaningful collaboration with leading academic and research institutions locally and internationally.
